My Mum told me about this place not long after she moved up here from Somerset, she loves a Garden Centre and so do I these days as they are usually quite family friendly.
I’m so glad she did as Bents is an amazing place, it’s like the Rolls Royce of Garden Centres.
We first visited at Christmas and the displays were stunning. You could spend an absolute fortune here – that aside, it’s a great place for kids, rain or shine. It’s an all year rounder.
I first started writing this review after a visit on New Years Eve (hence the Christmassy pics), then I came back a few weeks back to meet @motherfreckle for an Insta mum date. Most recently I took the girls at the weekend in the gorgeous weather we were having.
There’s so much to entertain, first off the toy shop has lots of toys out that the kids can play with.
The very large cafe / restaurant has a kids section with a small play area and drawing station.
There is a large play area outside with climbing frames for big and small kids with little bikes to ride around on.
The best part? Seats and tables for the grown ups to sit and enjoy a cuppa while the kids play.
The most recent addition at Bents is a Dinosaur Crazy Golf, yes, a Dino Golf course! It’s pretty impressive and sure to please any Dino fans out there.
Last but not least, the sandpit! In the spring and summer months there is a small counter serving drinks but all year round it’s sure to entertain the little’uns as it’s undercover in a large greenhouse. Guess what?? Also seats for the grown ups, hurrah!
Now to the food and drink. It’s not the cheapest of places to eat but the food is amazing and you certainly get value for money.
They have a large kids menu and loads of different options for the adults too. Only trouble is it’s a tray and counter type of place so if lone parenting it can be a bit tricky ordering and getting seated.
They have baby change in the main toilets and in the toyshop. Now the toyshop toilets need a special mention because they are LOVELY 🌻 and that is rare in a baby changing toilet! Plus it’s big enough to fit in me, a toddler and baby in a buggy to all spend a penny.
So if you’ve not been to Bents, try it out as it will not disappoint! Just maybe leave the credit card at home because there is too much nice stuff to buy 💷💳
